About this qualification
RIIRIS201E covers conducting local risk control in the resources and infrastructure industries, for operational roles working under supervision.
It is the bottom of a three-step risk ladder. RIIRIS201E conducts local risk control; RIIRIS301E applies risk management processes; RIIRIS402E — the unit mining calls G2 — carries out and audits the whole process. Each is a distinct code and employers name the one they want.
It is also one of the six units inside Standard 11, the Queensland surface coal mine induction, which is a large part of why 383 providers hold it.
The scope is deliberately local: inspecting your own work area, applying risk procedures to recognised hazards, and identifying the type and scope of hazards you cannot resolve yourself.
