About this qualification

RIISS00065 is a single unit: RIICWD539 Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes for motorways and freeways. It is the highest rung in the whole traffic control family.

It stacks on the base designer set. Hold RIISS00063 or RIISS00056 first — on its own it gives motorway plan preparation with nothing underneath it.

26 providers nationally, the fewest of any skill set on this site. Designing temporary traffic management for a motorway is a small and specialised market.

Worth noting the shape of the whole family: 403 providers at road labourer, 149 at base designer, 26 here. The pyramid is steep.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the high volume set first?
The register does not require RIISS00064 before this one. Both stack on a base designer set — check what your road authority expects.
Why only 26 providers?
It is the most specialised set in the family. Motorway temporary traffic management design is a small market.
Can I do it standalone?
Not sensibly. Without a base designer set you would hold motorway plan preparation with no underlying design or risk management units.
What is the difference from the implementer motorway set?
RIISS00062 implements plans on motorways. This one writes them.
Where does it lead?
The units credit toward RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design and related qualifications.
