About this qualification

RII50315 was the qualification for processing plant managers. The register describes “metal or coal processing facility managers who perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment, roles and techniques for themselves and others”.

It was superseded on 17 March 2026 by RII50326, which carries the same title, the same 16-unit shape of 8 core plus 8 electives, and the same elective rules. The register records RII50326 as equivalent.

What changed is at unit level, and it follows the same pattern as the surface coal supersession: the two imported BSB units were replaced with their current equivalents, and two RII core units moved from their D release to their E release.
