About this qualification

BSB60619 is for people already running a safety program who want the qualification to match. The register describes it as coordinating, facilitating and maintaining a WHS program — the whole thing, not one part of it.

The core is strategic rather than procedural: build a positive safety culture, evaluate how the organisation is actually performing, audit under a lead auditor, apply safe design, apply ergonomics.

Eleven units: five core, six elective, with at least three electives from Group A.

Frequently asked questions

Does this make me a lead auditor?
No. The audit unit is done under the guidance of a lead auditor. Lead auditor certification is a separate scheme run outside the training system.
Is the Diploma required first?
Not as a rule. Entry requirements are set by each provider, and most look at what you have been doing at work as much as what you have completed.
How is this different from the Diploma?
The Diploma runs the safety system. This one sets the strategy behind it — culture, organisational performance, design.
