About this qualification
RIISS00054 is the broader Traffic Controller Skill Set: four units covering communication, working safely under WHS policies, the stop-slow bat, and portable traffic control devices and temporary signs.
It is not interchangeable with RIISS00058. That one is the road-type-specific version for urban streets and low volume rural roads, at three units — it drops RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures.
Which one your road authority accepts varies. Ask by code before you enrol, because the training is close but the codes are not the same thing.
208 providers deliver it, against 228 for the urban set. Both remain current on the register.
