About this qualification
UEE51225 moves from fixing systems to developing them — the register lists developing systems, selecting equipment, commissioning, maintaining and diagnosing faults across commercial food storage and air conditioning.
The core carries the analytical units the trade qualification does not: psychrometric performance, heat loads, thermodynamic parameters, and fluid parameters of refrigeration systems.
A total of 1670 weighting points: 1540 core, 130 general electives.
Roles it maps to
Where this qualification leads, per the national register.

Frequently asked questions
- Is this an engineering degree?
- No. It is a vocational diploma. It carries engineering-level analysis units but it is not a degree and does not lead to registration as an engineer.
- Only three providers hold this?
- At this level the field is small. The Certificate IV below it is more widely available.
