About this qualification
SIR10116 covers “individuals who complete a limited range of basic workplace tasks” with “a limited range of technical skills and knowledge”. The register is direct about it, and that honesty is useful.
Five units in total — three core and two electives. Nothing smaller exists on this site. It is designed to be completed quickly, and it is frequently delivered in schools and through employment programs.
The three core units are the floor beneath all retail work: communicating in the workplace to support team and customer outcomes, working effectively in a service environment, and working safely.
The register notes it “provides a pathway to work in a variety of industry sectors and business contexts” — not only retail. Those three core units travel.
