About this qualification

CHC52025 is the community sector's professional qualification. The register describes workers “involved in the delivery, management and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities”, who “work autonomously within their scope of practice under broad directions from senior management” and “may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers”.

Twenty units — twelve core and eight electives — making it the largest qualification in the community services ladder below management level. The core spans assessing co-existing needs, developing service programs, crisis response, case management, sociological analysis, domestic and family violence, diversity, cultural safety, legal and ethical compliance, workplace debriefing, reflective practice and work health and safety.

CHCMGT005 Facilitate workplace debriefing and support processes being core is worth noticing. At diploma level the qualification assumes you will be supporting other workers through what the job does to them, not only clients.
