About this qualification
CHC43415 covers workers who participate in “the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients”. The register places them in residential facilities, community agencies and day centres.
This is the qualification behind lifestyle and activities roles in aged care and disability services — the person who plans the program, not the person delivering personal care. Work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisational guidelines.
There is a mandatory work placement. To achieve the qualification you must complete at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units. That is set by the training package, not by the provider — ask how each provider arranges it.
Seventeen units, ten of them core, and five of those ten are the CHCLAH leisure-and-health units themselves — programming, individual programs, clients with complex needs, and lifespan development. It is a more prescribed qualification than most Certificate IVs.
