Enrol through Four Legs
About this qualification
RII30826 is the current Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations. It replaced RII30820 on 1 September 2026 and the register records the two as equivalent.
The shape is unchanged and still unusual for the RII package: fifteen core units and only five electives, where most qualifications at this level run three or four cores. The breadth is fixed by the qualification rather than chosen by the provider.
Roles it maps to

Frequently asked questions
- Is this the same qualification as RII30820?
- The register flags RII30826 as equivalent to RII30820, and the packaging is identical: fifteen core and five electives. The code changed in the September 2026 release of the RII training package.
- I am part way through RII30820. What happens?
- A superseded qualification keeps a finite currency. Your RTO has twelve months from 1 September 2026 to complete, transfer or withdraw enrolled learners.
- Does this cover the plant tickets I need on site?
- Not automatically. Licensing and certification requirements vary between states, territories and industry sectors and must be checked with the relevant body. High risk work licences are issued by the state regulator, not by the qualification.
