About this qualification
NWP20122 is the first rung of the water industry. The register describes mainly routine tasks under appropriate supervision, across networks, irrigation, water sources and treatment.
Only two core units — safety of yourself and others, and following environmental and licensing procedures. The other nine come from a bank of over sixty, chosen to match the part of the industry you are entering.

Frequently asked questions
- Two core units only?
- Yes. Water covers networks, irrigation, sources and treatment, and those are very different jobs. The register keeps the core to what they all share.
- Is this enough to work unsupervised?
- No, and the register says so — this level is written for work under appropriate supervision. The Certificate III is the operating qualification.
